# Mailchimp integration

> Send new partners to a Mailchimp audience automatically

Connect Mailchimp so every new partner is added to a Mailchimp list, ready for your onboarding emails and
newsletters.

  This integration sends **partners** to Mailchimp. It does not sync referred customers. If you run a
  newsletter referral program and want to connect subscribers instead, see

## Step 1: Authorize Mailchimp

1. Go to **Integration** under **Program** and scroll to **Third-party integrations**.
2. Click **Authorize** next to Mailchimp.
3. Log in to Mailchimp and click **Allow**.

Authorization uses OAuth, so there is no API key to copy and no data centre to pick — Partnero gets both from
Mailchimp when you approve the connection.

## Step 2: Choose what to send

Back in **Third-party integrations**, click **Manage** next to Mailchimp. Four options are available:

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| **List** | The Mailchimp audience new partners are added to |
| **Approved partners only** | Skips partners still awaiting approval |
| **Partners with marketing permissions only** | Only sends partners who opted in to marketing |
| **Partner data synchronization** | Keeps partner details up to date in Mailchimp after the first send |

Click **Save**.

## Troubleshooting

    Open **Manage** and confirm a list is selected — the connection can be authorized without one chosen, in
    which case Partnero has nowhere to send partners.

  <Accordion title="Only some partners are being sent">
    That is usually one of the two filters. With **approved partners only** enabled, pending partners are held
    back until you approve them; with **marketing permissions only** enabled, partners who did not opt in are
    never sent.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Partner details are stale in Mailchimp">
    Enable **partner data synchronization** in the Manage modal. Without it, partners are sent once and not
    updated afterwards.
