# Send program emails with Postmark

> Use your own Postmark server to send your program's emails from your confirmed sender

Postmark is one of the email gateways Partnero can send your program's emails through. Connecting a Postmark
server lets those emails go out from your own address, such as *[partners@yourdomain.com](mailto:partners@yourdomain.com)*, instead of the default
*@partnero.email* address.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This is about **sending email**, not syncing data. Postmark does not receive your partners or customers. For
> that, see [Mailchimp](https://docs.partnero.com/integrations/mailchimp.md) or [MailerLite](https://docs.partnero.com/integrations/mailerlite.md).

## Before you start

You need:

* The **Server API token** of the Postmark server you want to send from. Account API tokens can't send emails.
See [Postmark's guide to API tokens](https://postmarkapp.com/support/article/1008-what-are-the-account-and-server-api-tokens).
* A **From email address** that is a confirmed sender signature, or that belongs to a verified domain, in
  Postmark.

## Connect Postmark

1. In your program, go to **Emails** under Affiliate.
2. On the **Settings** tab, click **Setup** next to **Use Postmark**.
3. Paste your **Postmark Server API token**.
4. Enter your **From email address**.
5. Click **Connect**.

Once connected, Postmark shows a green checkmark and the address it sends as, for example
**Sending as [partners@yourdomain.com](mailto:partners@yourdomain.com)**.

## Your sender email

Postmark sends from one address, so connecting it also sets your program's **Sender email** to the From address
you entered. You don't need to pick it yourself. The address can't be edited under **Sender email**. To send from
a different address, disconnect Postmark and connect it again with the new From address.

> [!TIP]
>
> Click **Send test email** below the email gateways to confirm everything works before your partners start
> receiving emails.

## Disconnecting

Click **Disconnect** next to **Use Postmark** and confirm. Your Server API token and From address are removed
from Partnero.

If Postmark was sending your program's emails, your sender email switches back to Partnero's default
*@partnero.email* address, so your emails keep going out.

## Troubleshooting

> [accordion] Your Server API token is not valid
>
> Make sure you copied the **Server API token** from your server's **API Tokens** tab, not an Account API
> token. Also check that the From email address is a valid email address.

> [accordion] The From address is not a Sender Signature on your account
>
> Postmark only checks the From address when an email is sent, so connecting can succeed while sending fails.
> Add and confirm the address as a sender signature, or verify its domain, in Postmark. Then send a test email
> again.

> [accordion] Test emails to other domains are rejected
>
> While your Postmark account is pending approval, Postmark only delivers to addresses on the same domain as
> your From address. Send the test to an address on that domain, or request account approval in Postmark.
