# Connect a custom referral portal domain
By default, the referral portal is hosted on a *referral.site* domain. You can connect your domain to ensure seamless branding.
To connect your domain:
1. Go to **Referral portal** under **Referral**.
2. In the **Settings** tab, click **Connect domain** next to the Referral portal URL: 
3. Enter the domain you'd like to have and click **Next**: 
4. Next, you'll have to create a CNAME record on your hosting service provider. Copy the provided record details:
5. Once you've created the record, toggle the "**I have added the DNS record**" setting and click **Check DNS settings**. 
6. If the DNS settings were added correctly and published, the domain will be connected.

#### How to access the DNS settings of your domain
The following steps must be completed in your domain's DNS settings (not in your Partnero account). If you need help with these steps, we recommend contacting your hosting provider.
1. Log in to your domain provider (usually on your hosting).
2. Find the DNS settings for your domain. You can find instructions on this by searching “DNS settings” + your hosting provider's name on any search engine (such as Google).
3. Create a DNS record with CNAME type and fill out the Name and Value fields given to you on your Partnero account.
Just to remind you, hosting providers may refer to the Name and Value TXTs differently. They can be referred to as:
* Name and Host
* Domain and Value
* Domain and Host
In some cases, the CNAME record might be referred to as the Domain Alias record.
